Skiing and winter sports
Winter is the season of skiing and snow sports, but also for walks and outdoor activities in the exhilarating mountain air, or for those who prefer relaxation, the baths of Villars, inaugurated in 2017, can offer just that.
Ski slopes, from the T-bar lift of Les Fracherets, Alpe des Chaux, only a few minutes walk above the site of Les Arsets await you! With connections to many other ski lifts you can quickly reach the slopes above Villars and Les Diablerets: 34 ski lifts, 125km of ski slopes for all levels of skiers, with altitudes ranging from 1200 to 3000 meters offering you continuous skiing for an unforgettable stay on its sun-drenched slopes!
A bus service in peak winter and summer seasons connects Gryon to Alpe des Chaux; the timetables and bus stop are at the entrance to Les Arsets.
In Frience, also just above Les Arsets, is a magnificent refuge with spectacular views and is the starting point for a walk in snowshoes to Solalex whose refuge is open all year-round, or sledging around Frience itself. Closer by, Le Resto, a few minutes walk above Les Arsets, or by telecabin the restaurant at Les Chaux with its log cabin appearance will allow you to combine a walk and a fine meal. Gryon and its Centre Gryonnais, Maison du Terroir, shops and at the heart of Barboleusaz the not-to-be-missed bakers/chocolaterie Charlet’s with its mouth-watering delicacies, all offering so much for everyone!
Finally, the grocery store Jaymes, also in Barboleusaz, will provide you with ample supplies in order to relax and enjoy your stay in the Loft and profit from its terrace and outside grill. The fitted kitchen includes everything you need.
